The Gift of Free Will

In the beginning when God the Father created man He gave us the beautiful gift of the soul, and with that soul comes an even more beautiful and confusing gift, the gift of free will. If God had created us without a soul and without free will, our love for him would not be true It would not be sincere and it most definitely would not be loving. However God toke a risk and made it so we aren't required to love him, he toke this risk so that our Love for him could be the most fulfilling thing we experience. We were made to love, but in order to love we have to have the option not to love. I know it is confusing but think about it, to know something we have to experience its absence. That does not mean we shouldn't love Him or do every thing for Him, it simply means our love for Him can be so true and pure and holy because of that gift. Of course the saddest part of this gift is that people can chose things that wont give them joy. they can do things to show complete hatred to the father who let them in the first place. It is true that without free will there would be no sin, but it is also true that without free will our appreciation for the love of the Father and the forgiveness of the Father would be drastically lacking. Forgiveness itself is the main way we feel and experience His love.

Now this is a lot to ponder and think about and I encourage you to dig deeper into the truths of free will by first praying about it and then living it. Every decision we make is because of free will, so start to pay attention and realize wiether or not your using your gift to love our Lord or to turn against Him. I know it is something I have to work on.
