Purifying Your Heart

At youth group recently we had a really good talk about purifying your heart and there were some things that stuck that I want to share with y'all. So what really stuck? Well it was the analogy they gave, comparing a persons heart to gold. When gold is found it is never in its pure state. It's mixed with other metals so it has to be purified. And when gold has gone through its purification process it is soft and malleable. But what does that have to do with our hearts? Well, when you first find God your soul is the dirty gold mixed with many imperfections. But as you start letting Him take control of your heart, of that gold, He starts to purify it. He turned it from the gold mixed with other metals to a perfect, pure precious metal. And when you allow God to fully work through your life it becomes pure. And when it's pure it becomes soft and malleable. When our heart is as pure as gold God can shape it into whatever it needs to be for you to get to Heaven. So just keep that in mind. Try to open your heart to purification and leave if open for God to shape it into part of His plan for you. -Kateri
