A Novena For Our Time

With all the fear, loneliness, and sadness that this world is experiencing, we could all use some encouragement and peace. Novenas are one of the strongest prayer I have found. The apostles prayed the first one, asking for the Holy Spirit. At that time, Jesus had just died, and they were especially scared and fearful (sort of like what we are experiencing now). At the bottom of this page, I made a simple prayer plan for a nine-day novena. You can also share with a group of 9 and give each person a special day that way you can build some community despite the circumstances (;. Day 1. For all healthcare workers. Scripture: Matthew 25:35, 40 Day 2. For our government leaders and for our respect for their decisions. Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:1-4 Day 3. For our church leaders and for us to accept their decisions. Scripture: Acts 14:23 Day 4. For our families (especially those with bad family situations) Scripture: Colossians 3:13 & Ephesians 4:32 Day 5. For all teachers and for our hard work and dedication to our school (even though it can be SO hard (; ) Scripture: Colossians 3:23-24 Day 6. For all those missing out on big events (wedding, graduation, etc.) Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 Day 7. For those most vulnerable for COVID-19. Scripture: Deuteronomy 31:6 Day 8. For those with economic difficulties (losing a job or business) Scripture: Matthew 6:25-26 Day 9. For an end to the coronavirus and our difficulties or anxieties. Scripture: Philippians 4:6 Each day you can pray your favorite prayer, a decade of the Rosary (or a full one), a Divine Mercy Chaplet, or a prayer that I love-the Litany of Trust (it is perfect for a time of uncertainty). This link brings you to a pdf that has this prayer on it.  https://sistersoflife.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Mobile-Litany-of-Trust.pdf When you pray your prayer each day, please keep each of these intentions (and/or your own) in mind. I hope this helps-please share with others! Finally, in all that we do, may we bring the True King glory! -Teresa
