Look Out!

I've shared the story of how I chose my confirmation Saint. To me it was so clear who I needed to be my special Saint. But to others it's not. But I think all the signs are there if you look hard enough! I want to share the story of how one of my friends chose her Confirmation Saint. So me and a group of girls went on a three day retreat to stay with some sisters at their monastery a few months before being confirmed. My friend could not decide between St. Frances Cabrini and another Saint. She was at a loss of which Saint to choose. So she prayed and we prayed for her. And how direct God's answer was was really amazing. It all started when we were all talking in the small library room in the monastery. My friend wanted to read a book and pulled one randomly from the shelf. And it happened to be a book on the life of St. Frances Cabrini. The next day we were walking to the cathedral with the sisters and we stopped briefly in the chapel of another bear by Church. Once inside something amazing happened. There was a row of stain glass windows in the chapel with different Saints. (St. Kateri was there too!) Every Saint was the Saint one of us girls had chosen! And there among them was St. Frances Cabrini!!! After that there was no doubt in her head that she should choose St. Frances to be her patron Saint. That's the power of prayer right there. It was an amazing experience for us to see someone's prayed and our own answered so directly. So when you're in doubt pray. And look out! Because God is ready to answer your prayers. You just have to be alert so you can see the signs he's giving you! For His Glory, Kateri
